Back to Business

There is something to say about regrouping and then also rebranding. I had to think long and hard about how I wanted to continue things with modeling, model mentoring, and other aspects of my life.

With that being said, I am working on the team and then also getting new images to post here. I have not been in front of a camera in so long, I am hoping I can remember what I am doing for once. I wanted to thank everyone who was so patient with me during my medical journey as that has been a long and tough one.

I am booking limited shoots this July and should be back to a normal schedule by August.

Day 29 Back to Business

It is time to get back to business. It has been some time since I have been able to book some shoots and get some new images up and going on my site. I think that I have my blood pressure incident under control. Too many doctor visits that I have now done. I am ready to get this calendar booked. I have a ton of new props and outfits that I am hoping to get shot before the end of the year!?

I am limiting things to the Atlanta area. I also am only working with people who can fill out a booking outline. It is not that hard. I find that people who are not interested in making their modeling or photography a business, they won’t fill it out and that won’t work. I need to have all of the details nailed down before I waste time and the shoot does not happen.

Day 28 Walking on eggshells?

I hate the situations when you are walking on eggshells. I find that it makes people uneasy and that you feel that you are holding back or not getting the information that you are asking for. I once had a boss who was just making everyone uneasy as we never knew what they were up to. They had so many closed-door meetings. It was always making the rest of the office paranoid. You know what happens when you assume right?

I for some reason always assumed the worst. I finally got the nerve to get in there and ask the question. I had to. For my own peace of mind. I knew that I may not like the answer but, I had to find my answers.

This is when you need the Calgon bath and need to sail away from all of the stress. Radio or DVD player on to sooth the nerves. Onto the next day.

In the eyes of the beholder

It used to be that when someone would post an image and they would get honest critique. In the world of Photoshop and major editing it is hard to tell what a good image is and what image has manipulated so been much to be the initial image isn’t even what it was intended. The art of the image and the conception used to take hours and days to prepare. Now with the digital age, objects can be just dragged and dropped.

With that being said, I implore models to take the time and read their modeling releases. Most of them have notations on the images on what editing and manipulation can be done. It also should read that images that are given to the model can be used for their portfolio use. I can’t understand the conversations that I have had where a model just tells me that she got a verbal OK. That is not OK. That also won’t hold up in court. Nothing is worse than to hear that an image got sold off of a TFP shoot. Or that the images got used for questionable purposes.

There is a concept or an idea that the photographer or the client has in the beginning to then book the model. It do0es take some planning to do. Be patient. The images that are taken after that amount of planning and preparation will be breathtaking.
