Booking Outlines, You Need It!

I always get amazed as to how many people who do not want to fill out a booking outline. It just makes things easier. It takes away the back and forth. It covers everyone’s hind quartersJ. It makes a shoot more into a plan. I have never been one of those who are just like, let’s show up and shoot. Some people can. I just am not one of them.

A booking outline is basically just what the expectations are for a modeling assignment. It covers the who, what, when, and where. It also covers the images that are supposed to be given to the model, what time frame, and how many. With all of the detail covered in one, it basically is your own contract to make sure that everyone keeps up with their end of the bargain. Once you get to the assignment, everyone signs off of it so again there are no last minute changes to it. And if there are, you make them in writing. No more he said, she said. That is the last thing you want to have taking up your time is to try to figure out on what was agreed upon.

Phones, Purses, and the Power of The Planner.

If you know me, you know that I could have a different purse for about every occasion. They range from the basic clutch to the ones with glitter and water within the walls of them. It is kind of a downfall of mine that I find the ones that fit the outfit and then they just seem to multiply. I packed some of them away and then found out that I needed them. That was such an issue as it would take now DAYS and maybe even weeks to drag through things and find the ones that I would be looking for, so I would just find newer ones and get those into rotation.

I also have two phones if not more. I find it crazy as to people who pay so much money for their phones. As much as I would love to have one, I just drop mine way too much to have it be worth as much as most of them are. I try to keep them separate from each other as one of for my close friends and then one of for my modeling and boot camp work. I think that it is always important to keep them separate as when they intertwine and most families don’t agree with the modeling that is being done, it can get a little messy. Also if you have that random drunk text that is sent out, you need to send that to a friend and not to a business colleague.

My planner right now is my bible. I love it… I have already bought mine to be using for 2022. I tend to highlight, put stickers, and various colors of ink in them to make it through the year. It used to be that I would get close to August and then forget to update things or just throw it away as I had a planner for work and then one for modeling. I have made it almost a few months through this one so, I am psyched! I am trying to figure out my summer and fall assignments. I know that with the vaccine, that will help out some but, of course things can change. Letting Go.

I am sure that over the past few months you have had to block, delete, or just let go of people that were toxic in your environment. Whether you are changing jobs, your location, or just your beliefs, it has happened. To most of us it would have happened whether the newest current events triggered them or not. I found in my social media memories on how many people that I had to let go of. I guess that is an adult thing as you are able to let go and not look back to people who you just don’t think fit into your circle anymore.

I had one friend who I had known since high school. He was a nomad and we never really agreed on things but, I guess it was always kind of nice that I knew that we had been friends for over twenty something years. I also have another who was introduced to me by another friend who had been coming out to trivia with us back in the day. Both of them I have not spoken to in months. I actually blocked one and then just ignored the other. I had heard an “I’m sorry” from the one who just basically make a mockery of a situation but, to me it just didn’t mean very much. I think that it was basically said to be said but, really… meant very little.

I think that when you decide to finally let go, you really just need to let go. Delete that number from your phone, delete the emails, and trash the screen shots. Clean slate your time and go make some new friends who can be in your new circle.

I was waiting for?

I stared at my phone and I was not even sure what I was trying to make it do. Oh yeah. I was going to make an actual phone call with it. I laugh as I have so many apps on it, I forget where the darn dialer is! When I get voice messages or texts, I wonder if things would be better done if they were on an actual voice phone call. As once you have sent that text or voice message, you sit there and wait. If you would have called you would know if you were going to get an answer right away.

I tend to have a crazy schedule. I seem to always stress myself out to try to and do as much as possible. This is where the invention of that dry white out is amazing for me. I end up using it everywhere. I can’t seem to not have things over lap right now. I know that it is not a good thing to do as then you just find a time and just crash. Those are the nights that you just come home from work, eat dinner, and you are in bed by 8 pm.

With that being said I have postponed assignments due to virus but, also just due to my schedule being as nuts as it is. I want to give people my full attention. When I can’t that just makes things worse. So bear with me these next few months as I am sure that things are just going to get crazier.

Reaching Out or Reaching Back?

There was a post a few months ago about how many people you have had in your circle of friends that have stretched over a decade or more. I actually printed out my address book, all hundreds of pages of it, and found that I have quite the list of people who I still keep in touch with. Maybe not the first boyfriend but, a lot of the past coworkers, I have usually checked in on here and there. I never want to burn bridges unless I really had to. That I went into in my previous post about letting go.

I think that could be a good challenge as to who you have actually kept in touch with and why. Are they great friends and who would be there for you in your time of crisis? I know we have some amazing people who helped us when we had our devastating flood in 2009. I can’t imagine trying to do that all again as there was so much to do and all of the stuff that was ruined! Maybe take ten people a week and try to reach out to them and see how they are doing. Just to see. I know that everyone posts what they ate on their social media! It would be a more intimate conversation as you ask how the dinner was. With over a few thousand contacts, I guess I better get busy and see what people are up to!
