I enjoy working with new photographers and models. One of the models that I had worked with years ago found some of the old photos that we had shot together. It brings me to thinking of more themes to work on for updating my portfolio. You have to have some imagination.
I find that the new models that come into the modeling industry look great. They just don’t have much of an imagination when it comes to shoots. They bring the same wardrobe to every shoot as well as do their makeup the same. They also end up doing the same poses that they have always done. I just don’t see how this is helping them or the photographer in the long run.
A models time in the industry is getting shorter and shorter. I don’t find a lot of models who stay in it and continue to model for a few years. They have some bad shoots and they get tired of the drama. I get that. It happens. It is like the office politics that you just can’t get away from.
There is a list of themes that I am looking to get back to. I am hoping to get most of them knocked out in 2018. From artistic to fetish to professional, it all has some planning to get done. So who will come and assist me in getting some new images up on my portfolio site?

There are so many models who I hear from on a weekly basis. I love them to death but. They end up telling me stories that just sound unreal. The train wreck has begun. You ask yourself if you would ever land in that position. You hope that you never do.
The main one that I find out is that they work with a photographer, they have not communicated as well and then they shoot something that they regret later. Or that they agree on one pay rate and then change it later. It all needs to be in black and white before the shoot gets started. It is one thing to be uncomfortable in a shoot. Maybe you have that one outfit one that itches like crazy. It is another thing to be in a shoot and just not be in the mood and then the images end up looking like crap.
The other thing that I run into a lot is when models who are on tour, budget for getting more money in and they go spend it. Or they have gone out the night before. They are trashed and then can’t get to the shoot to get paid. It is a mess to say the least. One, make a budget for your road trip. Confirm and let them know that there are cancellation fees due to you might not be able to book another shoot during that time frame. Limiting your means to get in the train wreck mode. You always want o be proactive and not reactive.

This month has been busy. I have got to say that the weekends that you would be able to sit down and just watch TV all day are gone. There are too many events, meetings, and networking options to get to. Then there for me is the other part of modeling.
I have had to move around a lot of things during this year. I am hoping to make sure that I get back with everyone who had contacted me. If you have a shoot or assignment that is in the Southeast for the next few months, please contact me to get on the calendar.
More and more we post on social media. We want people to know where we are and what is going on. As being a model this can be great as you can show off your new images but, it can also be dangerous. Please don’t put all of your personal information out there on social media. If you have to make another page, just add you family and close friends on it.
The more information you put out there the more you are setting yourself up for theft, stalkers, and other incidents. This just can end badly for everyone involved. I had seen where someone had wanted to play a game with her friends and basically asked those about 30 questions. It was amazing on who all answered and how much information that they gave out to people that they did not even know. It was scary to think that I knew that much about a person just from one post.
Take the time and figure out on how you want your social media presence to be. Figure out your audience and make it professional. You can put your opinion on there don’t get me wrong but, if you rant enough, you will come off as a complainer, that will limit you being hired. Just take the notation to keep yourself safer than most.
