Lately all you hear about is the news about someone else saying that something happened. People are coming out of the woodwork to say that they have been grouped, raped, molested…and more. I agree that the person who is being accused should be called out but, I also think that it needs to be in a timely manner. If you are coming out after someone after a decade.. I don’t see how many of the men and women can recall or recant after that period of time. The issues need to be addressed in the present. Now with the news… it is being more fluid than ever.
The issue that I have with models calling out photographers is that it needs to me be more than one model that has this behavior that is done from a photographer. Reason being as everyone knows, sometimes you just don’t click with a photographer. I have had several that I wasn’t uncomfortable with or they did anything but, they were not on their best behavior. I had one who took great images but, he kept reminding me that his wife was not home and took of his wedding ring. This was of course not appealing to me. We ended the shoot and I went on my way.
The other situation that comes to mind is that some models will do this as a vendetta against a photographer. They all gang up on one and either want to hog them for themselves or ruin them. The debate continues on what to do about this.

There are facets of modeling that most people never talk about. They are not the glamour images or the ones which are in magazines. They are the ones who are in the adult or the fetish industries. People think that they want to shoot them, they wonder if they can push their limits and get the desired effect.
It can be one of those amazing shoots what ends up going horribly wrong. If you are going into this facet of the industry, check your references and always take a chaperone/safety consultant with you. If one is not allowed, then there should be NO shoot. Case closed. Also go over any limitations and key movements to get attention that you are not doing OK. Most photographers who shoot this type of work know what to look for and it is fully discussed beforehand. Don’t go into this kind of shoot blindly.
Life is too short to be injured on a shoot. Especially when it is something that can be prevented. Take the time and plan it out. You can enjoy the moment to be captured without it leaving you at high risk.

I find that I get asked a lot of personal questions and questions about modeling. I guess that is the reason that I started My Modeling Boot Camp. This so I would be able as well as others to help people out in their situations. The only issue is when they put themselves in circumstances that really is their own fault. I wished that it was not the case but, sometimes I can’t say anything to help them.
The questions that I get about modeling are a little more complicated. I find that people who want to be photographers or models want to make their money back and in short order. That is not always the case. Some do better at marketing than others. Some have better rapport than others. It is the nature of the business. You have to really find your own niche and see what takes to you.

I have to say that the last few weeks have been a little nuts. I have not been offline per say but, I have been trying to make sure that I can do some time management issues. I have been working on getting some shoots lined up for the New Year. I am happy to say that I have about 12 lined up and just need to get some dates penciled in. Everyone has been so nice in being patient with me during this medical year. I am over being at the doctor’s office and figuring out what is wrong. It is annoying to say the least.
Today I laughed a little as my CC got compromised. I laugh not because it got used in another state, I laughed because it got used at a Government facility. Someone was trying to use it to get their business started. Not the regular buying a TV or a computer. The state of IL got called and I talked with a nice person who knew exactly who it was and told me that they would handle it. Karma.
